Well, I have finished fixing whatever it was that went wrong with the website today. I was trying to blog from my new office computer and something went amiss. At any rate, the computer (1) did not get my whole blog and (2) created a dozen or so empty blogs with today's date. I hope it will not send notifications to everyone. It also would not let me delete all the junk it created.
I have no idea how this happened. There I was, minding my own business, blogging away like a good little writer, and suddenly there was a mess that could not be fixed. It was very annoying.
You kind of get used to things working, when they work. You become accustomed to having planes get where they are going and your car starting in the morning and there being fresh coffee at your work or the local shop you go to. It would be a real shock to suddenly find your grocery store closed or your laundry out of business.
These things are a great comfort for us, I think, in a world we cannot control. When they go wrong, we can be very put out very quickly.
But, today was a victory for me. I did not get angry or greatly frustrated. I did not yell or pound on my keyboard. I did decide to be very careful about my new computer going forward. This is not the first warning sign I have reached. (It also will not communicate well with my printer yet.)
So, a day of defeat (the website messing up) and of victory (me not going nuts about it). Given that the defeat was just a thing and the victory was a personal one, I will take it. Gladly.
