Why Grace for Law?
People have asked about the name for the site: Grace for Law. Why that name? Put simply, it is because I think that is what has been received in the gospel: grace for law.
In Romans, Paul makes clear that the New Covenant really is something new, very different from the "law written on their hearts" and from the Mosaic Law, which both condemn. Like most of you, I was raised in law. I was raised in the rules and regulations of law, with the promise that I could receive something from God if I obeyed the rules and the regulations, although I seldom did so.
The great message of the gospel is of a new promise, a promise born of grace and replacing law. By law, no man is or can be justified before God, but by grace I am acceptable unto Him in Christ. I had law but have been given grace, therefore, my shorthand for what I have received is simple: Grace for Law.
